Maripily Rivera receives international award for her autobiography “With the Force of a Hurricane”
Book by Puerto Rican businesswoman receives Honorable Mention in the Best Autobiography category of the 2026 International Latino Book Awards
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Puerto Rican businesswoman and personality Maripily Rivera adds another achievement to her career by receiving international recognition for her autobiography Maripily: With the Force of a Hurricane, distinguished with an Honorable Mention in the Best Autobiography category of the International Latino Book Awards (ILBA) 2026.
The news was announced by Planeta USA, the publishing house responsible for the book, which congratulated Rivera on the recognition his work received.
“I receive this award with immense emotion and gratitude. This book is my life, my story, my struggles, my falls, and also my triumphs. I opened my heart to share experiences that made me stronger, and knowing that my story is now receiving this international recognition is something very special for me,” said Maripily Rivera.
In Maripily: With the Force of a Hurricane, Rivera shares different chapters of her life and the experiences that have shaped her personal and professional path. Through its pages, she recounts moments of adversity, growth, entrepreneurship, and transformation that led her to become one of the most recognized Puerto Rican figures both on and off the island.
To turn those experiences into a written story, Maripily had the collaboration of journalist Ana Enid López, who accompanied her in the process of developing and capturing her story on the pages of the book.
“I want to give special thanks to Ana Enid, who was with me throughout this process and helped me write and shape so many stories, memories, and experiences from my life. I also share this recognition with her, because she was an important part of making this book a reality,” Rivera emphasized.
The recognition from the International Latino Book Awards represents a new chapter for Rivera, this time as an author, and expands the reach of her story in the Hispanic publishing market in the United States.
“I’ve always said that behind every fall there must be the strength to get back up. If my story can help a woman, a mother, a young person, or anyone going through a difficult time to understand that they can keep going, then writing this book was worth it,” she added.
The 2026 International Latino Book Awards medal ceremony will be held on October 3rd at the CSU San Marcos Ballroom in California. During the event, medals will be awarded to the finalists, and the works receiving Honorable Mention will be recognized collectively.
“This award is also for Puerto Rico and for all my people who have followed my story for so many years. Thank you for being with me every step of the way, for celebrating my triumphs, and for giving me strength during difficult times. This hurricane still has a long way to go,” Rivera concluded.
